The city of Brasov is located in the Depression of Brasov, 161 km distance from the capital Bucharest. The central position of Brasov in Romania makes this state an important travel attraction for Romanian and incoming tourists. Brasov architecture is unique, each building having its own picturesque. In 1908, 5 saxon antiquaries from Brasov constituted the patrimony of Brasov Association of Collectors Museum who was founded by Iulius Teutsch. The museum did develop and, starting 1912, it will be named Barsa Region Saxon Museum. This museum has been closed after the World War II, part of its collection being donated to Brasov University, and another part to Regional Museum of Brasov established in 1950. The museum building had multiple utilities: dance saloon, students culture center, printing house and then museum. The collection that can be seen here are ceramics, glass art from 18th-19th century, a rich collection of popular costumes and textiles, painted eggs, icons painted on glass, metal, skins, bones. The patrimony has over 13.600 items, dated since 17th-20th century, representing multiple entographic regions: Barsa Region, Bran, Rupea, Fagaras Ragion, Hartibaciului Valley.
